Job summary

United Health Services (UHS) in New York's Southern Tier is seeking a Maintenance Technician 2 to perform routine maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and building systems within our healthcare facilities.

You’ll handle daily service requests, conduct preventive maintenance, document activities in maintenance records, and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently to support patient care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 2–4 years of operational level maintenance and engineering experience.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Graduation from a Trade School (preferred).
• 4 years maintenance/engineering with 2 hospital years (preferred).
• Equivalent experience/certification will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing equipment.
• Conduct grounds maintenance to keep outdoor areas safe and attractive.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment and wiring as needed.
• Service and repair refrigeration and air conditioning units.
• Carry out plumbing, heating, and steam fitting tasks.
• Execute general building maintenance and minor carpentry/painting.
• Keep detailed logs and reports of maintenance activities.
• Operate and maintain boilers following safety standards.
• Assist Security Officers as needed to maintain safety.
• Respond promptly to work orders to minimize downtime.
• Follow safety policies and use proper PPE.
