Job summary

Texas Health Denton recruits an experienced RN for the Emergency Department Evening Shift. You will deliver nursing care in a 41-bed ED, participate in rapid assessment and care planning, and coordinate transfers as needed.

Requirements include an RN license, ADN/ Diploma (BSN preferred), and certifications (BCLS/ACLS/PALS with timelines). Sign-on bonus eligible with a 2-year retention agreement; 36 hours/week, 3-12 hour shifts (3:00 pm–3:00 am).

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required.
• BSN preferred.
• CLIAFE must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required).
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required.
• BCLS required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• ACLS within 90 days of hire.
• CPI Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire.
• 1-year of Experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program required.
• 2-3 year ER experience preferred.
• ENPC Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course 12 months required.
• TNCC Trauma Nursing Core Course 12 months required.
• PALS - within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
