Job summary

Texas Health Denton is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Day Shift in the Emergency Department. This full-time ED position offers 36 hours weekly with 7:00 am–7:00 pm hours and a sign-on bonus for eligible hires.

Responsibilities include delivering patient care using the Nursing Process, assessing, planning, intervening, and ensuring safe, continuous care across shifts. Requires RN licensure, BCLS, ACLS within stated timelines, and ER experience preferred.

  • BCLS prior to independent care; ACLS within 90 days
  • ER experience preferred; ENPC/TNCC/PALS within timeframes

Work hours: Full-Time Day Shift, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 7:00 am –7:00 pm

Sign-on bonus for eligible RN’s (eligible upon hire with a signed 2-year retention agreement)

Here’s What You Need
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS – within 90 days of hire
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire
  • 1-year of Experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program required.
  • 2-3 year ER experience preferred.
  • ENPC – Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course – 12 months required
  • TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course – 12 months required
  • PALS - within 90 days of hire
What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
