Job summary

UPS Aberdeen, MD is seeking a reliable Automotive Journeyman Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team. You will service a diverse range of vehicles, including delivery trucks, heavy-duty tractors, and trailers, using diesel, gasoline and alternative propulsion systems. Candidates must have 3–5 years of experience, diagnostic tool proficiency, and the ability to meet DOT requirements. A valid driver’s license is required; CDL is preferred but not mandatory. Shift is 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of automotive mechanic experience with diesel and gas heavy-duty vehicles.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and PC.
• DOT inspections experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license; 21+; CDL preferred but not required.
• Ability to work varying shifts and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a diverse range of equipment including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty tractors and trailers.
• Troubleshoot and repair propulsion systems, hydraulics, electrical, and engine controls.
• Meet DOT requirements.
• Operate standard and manual transmission; use power and pneumatic tools.
