Job summary

Holden Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Holden, MA is seeking a dedicated Chef to join the Dietary Services team for the 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM shift. You will prepare nutritious, appealing meals while adhering to food safety standards and resident care plans.

The role requires at least 1 year of healthcare or large-scale food service cooking experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of institutional, healthcare, or large-scale food service cooking experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to work independently and lead team members in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and standardized recipes.
• Ensure food is prepared, portioned, and served in a safe, sanitary manner.
• Prepare therapeutic and specialty diets according to resident care plans.
• Collaborate with the Food Service Director, Food Service Supervisor, and Dietitian to meet residents' nutritional needs.
• Meet all scheduled meal service times and maintain high-quality food presentation.
• Supervise and direct Dietary Aides in kitchen and dining room operations.
• Monitor food service equipment and report maintenance concerns promptly.
• Follow all infection control, safety, and sanitation procedures.
• Assist with receiving and stocking food and supply deliveries.
• Attend required training and in-service programs.
• Work cooperatively with dietary staff and interdisciplinary team members.
• Maintain regular attendance and dependability.
