Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking an Evening Shelter Assistant to oversee the shelter's evening operations from 5:45 PM to 11:00 PM. You will ensure a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment, manage guest intake, provide guidance to volunteers, and coordinate with Enrichment Center case management for resources.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience in social services preferred.
• Experience in homeless services or related behavioral health is strongly preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations.
• Knowledge of homelessness resources and community supports.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee evening operations of the shelter, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment.
• Manage the evening guest intake process, including security screenings and documentation.
• Follow Shelter Manual procedures and maintain compliance.
• Maintain a visible, approachable presence to support guests, volunteers, and staff.
• Uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards in communal spaces during the evening shift.
• Attend staff meetings and required training sessions to stay current on practices.
