Job summary

EdAdvance, the Regional Learning Center in Torrington, CT, seeks a dedicated, reliable Full-Time Custodian to maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for staff and students.

Under the Director of Facilities, you will perform daily cleaning, secure the facility, manage waste, and assist with events. Flexible hours, competitive benefits, and salary commensurate with experience are offered.

Qualifications

• Prior commercial or school custodial experience is preferred.
• Child-safe aptitude and suitability for working around children.
• Professionalism, reliable judgment and consistent attendance.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and solve problems independently.

Responsibilities

• Sanitize assigned zones: Clean, sweep, mop, and vacuum offices, classrooms, conference rooms, and restrooms.
• Manage waste and recycling according to procedures and local laws.
• Set up and break down furniture and equipment for events.
• Perform shift-opening walkthrough and secure the building at night.
• Assist with maintenance tasks and escalate complex issues as needed.
• Provide backup coverage for shifts and respond to emergencies on-site.
