Job summary

EdAdvance in Torrington, CT is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Custodian to maintain a clean, safe environment for staff and students. The role supports the facility team under the Director of Facilities, with a 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. shift and year-round calendar.

Compensation is salary commensurate with experience and includes health, retirement benefits, and paid time off. Applicants must have custodial experience and valid driving credentials, with flexibility for after-hours needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial work is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning and maintenance of offices, classrooms, and restrooms.
• Manage waste removal and recycling per procedures and laws.
• Set up and break down furniture and equipment for events.
• Open the building and secure it at night; follow fire safety protocols.
• Inspect and document condition of facility assets; coordinate with trades as needed.
• Provide backup coverage for shifts and respond to after-hours needs.
