Job summary

Amherst Pelham Regional School District is seeking a night shift Custodian at Amethyst Brook Elementary in Amherst, MA. This is a Grade B AFSCME position with an hourly pay range of $18.28-$19.55 and a 3:00 PM–11:00 PM schedule.

The role requires cleaning, maintenance, and safety duties, including cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, moving furniture, lifting up to 50 pounds, CORI checks, and a starting salary of $18.28-$19.55 per hour; join the district's Facilities team.

Qualifications

• Certification of good health signed by a licensed physician.
• Ability to lift up to fifty pounds on a regular basis.
• Experience with custodial supplies and equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers and waxing equipment.
• Basic computer skills.
• CORI and fingerprint background checks required.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Shovel and sand walks, driveways, parking areas and steps as needed.
• Vacuum classroom carpets daily and dust furniture.
• Clean corridors after school and during the day when required.
• Scrub and disinfect bathrooms.
• Keep grounds free of rubbish and floors in good condition.
• Remain on school grounds during shift hours and move furniture as directed.
• Perform other duties to meet school needs.
