ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties in designated areas at a K-12 campus environment. The role involves cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms and common areas, with a 4:00 pm to 12:00 am schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• Preferred: prior customer service experience.
• Preferred: one year of prior similar work experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices and stairways.
• Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
• Regularly check trash receptacles and empty as needed.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager about repairs or additions to building systems.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with clients, co-workers and supervisors.
• Collect, consolidate, and separate recycling into proper receptacles.
• Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings and walls.
• Polish hard surfaces such as woodwork and stainless steel.
• Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs and equipment in food areas.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture and equipment to clean areas using hand trucks.
• Clean interior partition glass, windows and mirrors.
