Job summary

Amherst-Pelham Regional High School is seeking a day shift Custodian to join the AFSCME bargaining unit. The role supports cleaning, sanitation and safety operations during school hours.

The starting hourly pay ranges from $18.28 to $19.55, with a full-time schedule from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm. Successful candidates will meet health and background requirements and be able to lift 50 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds on a regular basis.
• Certification of good health signed by a licensed physician.
• Experienced in the use of custodial supplies, tools and accessories including floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping and waxing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Shovel and/or sand walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps, as appropriate.
• Vacuum classroom carpets daily and dust furniture.
• Clean corridors after school each day, and during the day when their condition requires it.
• Scrub and disinfect bathrooms.
• Keep grounds free from rubbish.
• Keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation.
• Remain on the school grounds during assigned shift hours.
• Move furniture or equipment within the building as required for various activities and as directed by the head custodian.
• Other assigned duties as required to fill job-related needs.

The Amherst-Pelham Regional School District school system is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of day shift Custodian at Amherst-Pelham Regional High School. This is a grade B position within the AFSCME bargaining unit with an hourly pay starting range of $18.28-$19.55.
