Job summary

Helena Public Schools is seeking an Afternoon/Evening Custodian at Jim Darcy Elementary School. The role involves cleaning, minor repairs, equipment upkeep and helping maintain a safe, functional school environment to support the education program.

You will work as part of a team of 70+ maintenance personnel serving about 8,000 students across 18 campuses in Helena. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and up to three months of related experience; salary starts at $17.40 per

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Up to three months of related experience and/or training.
• Equivalents as determined by the District.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining seasonal grounds work (snow, lawn) etc.
• Clean and preserve designated spaces, equipment, etc.
• Restock disposable items and provide inventory usage data.
• Perform ongoing preventative maintenance and minor repairs on plumbing, custodial equipment, building structure and hardware.
• Perform minor electrical maintenance and repairs.
• Perform light maintenance as needed.
• Assist visitors utilizing school facilities with directions and equipment setup.
• Maintain building and grounds security by closing the building each school day and during events.
