Job summary

Derby Public Schools is seeking an Evening Shift Custodian to perform general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds. The role requires attention to safety, ability to follow schedules, and cooperation with staff and students.

The position involves cleaning rooms, hallways, restrooms, and other areas; setting up meeting spaces; and occasional snow removal and deliveries. Previous custodial experience is desirable, and a HS diploma is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous custodial/maintenance experience desirable.
• Possession of a State Motor Vehicle Operator's license or access to transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds.
• Maintain equipment in functional condition and assist students, staff and visitors as needed.
• Clean floors, restrooms, windows, and other areas according to standards.
• Set up and break down furniture for meetings and events; assist with deliveries and storage.
• Clear snow, spread ice melter, and perform grounds-keeping duties.
