Job summary

Helena Public Schools is seeking a Full-time Afternoon/Evening Float Custodian at C. R. Anderson Middle School. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 3:00pm to 11:30pm, supporting a district with 8,000 students across 18 campuses.

You will perform custodial tasks, assist with grounds, inventory, and minor maintenance, ensuring facilities remain safe and ready for education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Up to three (3) months of related experience and/or training.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by the District.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining seasonal grounds work (snow, lawn) and related tasks.
• Clean and preserve designated spaces and equipment in the building.
• Restock disposable items and provide daily inventory usage data.

As an Afternoon/Evening Custodian you contribute to this mission by keeping the district's buildings in such a state of operating excellence that they present no problems or interruptions to the education program. You will work as part of a team of 70+ maintenance personnel serving nearly 8,000 students and 18 campuses across Helena.

Some of what you will do:

• Assistin maintaining seasonal grounds work (snow, lawn) etc.
• Cleanand preservedesignated spaces, equipment etc. in the building.
• Restockdisposable items and provideday maintenance person with inventory usage and data.
• Performongoing preventative maintenance and minor repair on plumbing, custodial equipment, building structure and hardware.
• Performs minor electrical maintenance and repairs.
• Performlight maintenance as needed.
• Assistthe visiting public utilizing school facilities with directions within the building and in obtaining and setting up needed equipment and/or materials.
• Maintainbuilding and grounds security by closing the building each school day and during special events.

To become part of this dedicated team, you need:

• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Up to three (3) months of related experience and/or training;
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by the District.

Essential functions of the position include the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as cleaning supplies, pails and unloading trucks. Occasionally the employee will lift and/or move up to 100 pounds such as bulk furniture with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Entry level salary is $17.40 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefit package consisting of 15 paid vacation leave days per full calendar year, up to 12 paid sick leave days per calendar year, 12 paid holidays, 2 paid personal days, a generous health benefit offering and retirement.
