Job summary

Rockwood R-6 School District is seeking an Evening Shift Custodian at the Central Office in Eureka, Missouri. The role covers 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, 12 months, with standard benefit packages starting at employment.

Duties include custodial maintenance, cleaning classrooms and restrooms, and coordinating with day staff. The position requires physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, climb ladders up to six feet, and operate cleaning equipment safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment and supplies, including precautions for use.
• Math skills sufficient to handle manufacturers' label instructions for dilution of chemicals used in cleaning.
• Basic computer knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop and vacuum various floor surfaces using manual and mechanical equipment.
• Keep the building locked and secured.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and surfaces in classrooms.
• Monitor halls and grounds and pick up debris.
• Prepare and finish/refinish hard floors per established procedures when directed.
• Set up and clean for school functions, using safe work practices.
• Deliver packages and other materials as needed.
• Maintain exterior cleanliness from curb to building.
