Job summary

Rockwood R-6 School District Crestview Middle School in Ellisville, MO is hiring a Custodian II (Day Shift) to provide a safe, clean learning environment. The role covers cleaning classrooms, restrooms, floors and common areas, with a 40-hour week on a 260-day calendar.

Immediate start, full benefits and uniform provided. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work flexible shifts including evenings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and supplies, including precautions for use.
• Math skills sufficient to handle manufacturers' label instructions for dilution of chemicals used in cleaning

Responsibilities

• Prepare reports on work-related injuries with Head/Lead Custodian as soon as possible after the incident.
• Clean surfaces, equipment and furniture in classrooms using appropriate supplies and equipment.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms.
• Clean up after breakfast and lunch shifts.
• Climb ladders up to six feet as needed.
• Deliver packages and other materials as needed.
• Set up and clean for school functions using safe work practices.
• Keep building secured and locked.
• Monitor halls and grounds and pick up debris.
• Finish hard floors per established procedures when directed.
• Maintain outside areas from curb to building.
• Read caution labels and mix chemicals per directions.
• Remove snow and ice from exterior walks.
• Report work periods using timekeeping system and paperwork.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum various floor surfaces.
• Support custodial staff with related tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned
