Job summary

Bremerton School District 100-C is seeking a Second Custodian to support building operations and lead custodial staff in the absence of the Head Custodian.

The role involves cleaning, maintenance, and safety tasks, with reporting to the Director, Facilities & Small Works Projects. The position runs 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, 260 days/year, and requires dependable, trained personnel to uphold high standards of facility care.

Qualifications

• Prior successful experience as a custodian.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Skills in giving directions to staff and coordinating with supervisors.
• Proven ability to work with the public and maintain attendance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled custodial and general maintenance work for buildings and equipment; may supervise other custodians.
• Train staff, order supplies, and evaluate equipment; help maintain inventory and records.
• Open buildings, ensure security, and secure rooms after use during events.
• Supervise setup/removal of furniture for events and distribute equipment as needed.
• Operate custodial power equipment and hand tools for cleaning and maintenance; repair equipment as needed.
• Occasionally drive light trucks.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
