Job summary

Bremerton School District seeks a reliable Second Custodian to support building operations in the late afternoon/early evening. You will assist the Head Custodian, supervise other custodians, and participate in training, inventory, and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities include opening buildings, ensuring security, preparing rooms for events, and coordinating with administrators and staff to maintain a clean, safe environment for students and staff alike.

Qualifications

• Experience as a custodian or in a similar facilities role.
• Ability to communicate clearly with staff and supervisors.
• Capability to supervise others and direct tasks when needed.
• Good teamwork and collaboration with building staff.
• Ability to interpret basic math and safety data sheets.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled custodial and general maintenance tasks and supervise others when assigned.
• Train staff, order supplies, and help manage inventory and records.
• Open buildings, ensure security, and manage room setup for events.
• Observe areas, report findings, and supervise furniture setup/removal for events.
• Operate custodial equipment and perform repairs as needed; assist with minor vehicle tasks.
