Job summary

Davenport Community Schools is seeking custodial staff to join our facilities team. You will perform cleaning duties, including mopping, dusting, and deep cleaning during break periods, while helping maintain a safe, welcoming school environment.

Responsibilities also include snow removal, minor grounds keeping, and assisting with supply deliveries. A high school diploma or GED is required; successful candidates must be able to work day shifts during summer and school breaks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Flexible with shifts and able to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Dusts horizontal surfaces, clocks, overhead screens, and blinds.
• Wet mopping of floors, spot cleaning of carpets and hard flooring.
• Assists with deep cleaning during break periods—stripping, scrub & refinish, carpet extraction, cleaning restrooms, glass, and furniture.
• Trash removal
• Removes snow
• Minor grounds keeping
• Lawn mowing
• Assists with delivery of supplies
• Properly maintains equipment
• Reports maintenance issues to Head and Lead custodians
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Must work days during the summer.
