Job summary

Mapleton Public Schools is seeking a Custodian for the evening shift at Adventure Elementary School in Denver, CO. The role covers cleaning, basic maintenance, and setup for events within a 260-day contract.

Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms and common areas, assisting users of the building, maintaining security, and performing minor repairs as needed, under supervision of the Lead Custodian or Director of Operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate various cleaning equipment.
• Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, Superintendent policies, and building and department procedures.
• Ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with all people, including those from diverse backgrounds.
• Criminal background check required for hire.

Responsibilities

• Clean building including classrooms, locker rooms, restrooms, offices, and hallways; perform trash removal, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and surface cleaning.
• Assist staff, students, and community groups using the building; respond to questions and requests.
• Change light bulbs and filters; inspect vents; report maintenance needs to supervisor.
• Ensure building security by locking/unlocking doors as needed.
• Set up for programs, meetings, and events; move and set up equipment and furniture.
• Assist with routine grounds duties and outdoor cleaning.
• Respond to emergencies and assist during incidents to ensure safety.
• Perform seasonal and project cleaning as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
