Job summary

Nimble is seeking a dedicated Custodian for a 2nd shift to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in a school setting. The role includes cleaning classrooms, corridors, restrooms, and common areas, performing minor maintenance, and ensuring building security during opening and closing hours.

Responsibilities include following school procedures, reporting repairs, managing supplies, and supporting staff and students as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Ability to plan and organize.
• Skills in human relations.
• Aptitude for cleaning, minor mechanical repair, and good work habits.
• Alternatives to qualifications may be approved by the Board of School Trustees.

Responsibilities

• Keeps building and premises neat and clean at all times.
• Performs painting duties as required.
• Shovels, plows, and sands walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps as appropriate.
• Check exit doors and panic bolts during occupancy hours.
• Keeps grounds free from rubbish and maintains safety of school grounds.
• Cleans classrooms, corridors, restrooms, drinking fountains, and windows.
• Maintains regular maintenance and minor repairs as directed by Head Custodian.
• Assists in monitoring student discipline as appropriate.
• Remains on site during school hours and opens/closes building daily.
• Reports major repairs and damages promptly.
• Oversees inventory and requisitions supplies as needed.
• Performs any duties assigned by the principal.
