Job summary

Hemlock Public Schools is seeking a full-time Second Shift School Custodian to maintain cleanliness and safety across the district facilities. The role runs 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm and requires dependable performance and adherence to district standards.

The position includes cleaning, lawn care, snow removal, minor repairs, and ensuring custodial equipment functions properly. A CDL may be pursued to support transportation as needed.

Qualifications

• Meet requirements for background check and fingerprinting.
• Proven experience in custodial or janitorial work, with a track record of excellence.
• Strong sense of duty and accountability.
• Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to follow and enforce safety and hygiene regulations rigorously.
• Physical stamina and strength to perform demanding tasks.
• Effective communication skills and a cooperative attitude.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with the building head custodians.
• General cleaning, lawn care, snow removal, working at heights on ladders and other platforms, ordering supplies, handling cleaning chemicals, and painting.
• Minor plumbing and maintenance repairs/remodel as needed with support and supervision.
• Must be able to handle push, pull, or lift weights of at least fifty (50) pounds.
• Supervision of areas where students are present as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or designee.
