Job summary

Uplift Education is seeking a dedicated custodian to perform nightly cleaning and maintenance across school facilities. The role supports students and staff by ensuring a safe, attractive environment and timely handling of routine tasks such as trash removal, restroom upkeep and basic repairs.

• Education: High School Diploma or GED or 2 years in janitorial service or building maintenance.
• Special Skills: Quality control checks.
• Required Skills/Abilities: Read, analyze and interpret instructions; respond to and resolve complaints; present information clearly.
• Technology: Learn to use work order software, burglar alarm systems, and mobile devices.

Responsibilities

• Perform nightly cleaning: sweep, mop, wipe furniture, clean restrooms.
• Remove trash and dispose in dumpster/compactor.
• Maintain campus facilities, grounds and equipment.
• Assist with cafeteria dining area setup.
• Perform routine maintenance like unclogging drains or fixing partitions.
• Deep cleaning tasks: windows, vents, floors; use ladders as needed.
• Move furniture for waxing or maintenance; report major repairs.
