Job summary

Sun Prairie Area School District is seeking a 2nd shift custodian to clean and maintain school facilities on a full-time basis. Work hours are 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Monday through Friday, year-round, with PTO, vacation, holidays and benefits.

The role requires clean classrooms, halls, bathrooms, and common areas, plus light maintenance tasks and snow removal as needed. A valid driver's license is required and prior custodial experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with five to eleven months custodial experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
• Ability to operate a variety of custodial equipment including vacuum cleaner, floor buffer, carpet extractor, mower, etc.
• Physical ability to lift and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Cleans classrooms, halls, locker rooms, bathrooms and other areas as assigned.
• Replenishes supplies in paper and soap dispensers.
• Dusts furniture; cleans and polishes fixtures.
• Cleans windows.
• Removes trash and other refuse.
• Assists in preparing areas for meetings and other activities.
• Performs minor repairs and routine maintenance to buildings and equipment.
• Performs various seasonal jobs including snow removal.
• Secures building.
