Job summary

Qualifications

• Basic math skills for counting and measurements.
• Ability to read and interpret schedules, work orders, specs, and cut lists.
• Proficiency with tape measures, rulers, calipers, gauges.
• Knowledge of wood species, grain, defects, lumber grading is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate rough mill machinery (rip saws, crosscut saws, gang saws, chop saws, straight-line saws).
• Inspect lumber for defects and quality before processing.
• Set up and adjust machines to achieve required dimensions.
• Monitor machinery and adjust for quality and efficiency.
• Measure and verify parts with measuring tools.
• Sort, stack, and stage materials per production orders.
• Report malfunctions and safety concerns to supervisors.
