Job summary

MillerKnoll is seeking a Wood Rough Mill Operator in Hildebran, NC to set up, operate, and monitor rough mill equipment. You will process lumber into dimensioned components, ensuring quality and safety while meeting production targets.

The role requires strong math, attention to detail, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include operating multiple saws, inspecting material, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Basic math and measurement calculations.
• Ability to read and interpret production schedules and cut lists.
• Proficient use of tape measures, calipers, rulers and gauges.
• Knowledge of wood species and lumber grading preferred.
• Ability to safely operate woodworking machinery and troubleshoot issues.

Responsibilities

• Operate rough mill machinery (rip, crosscut, gang, chop, straight-line saws) to process lumber.
• Inspect lumber for defects and ensure dimensions meet specs prior to processing.
• Set up and adjust machines to achieve required dimensions and production standards.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust for quality and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate production records and document material tracking.
