Job summary

Backus Hospital in Connecticut is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our clinical team. You will provide compassionate, evidence-based care, perform comprehensive assessments, and collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to optimize outcomes.

Required are a nursing degree, CT RN license, BLS, ACLS/NRP within the defined timeframe, and completion of a nurse residency program or equivalent experience in the specified area. BSN/MSN preferred; rotating weekends apply.

Qualifications

Graduate of a school of nursing.
BSN or MSN preferred.
One (1) year RN experience and/or successful completion of The William W. Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program.
Two (2) or more years experience in this specific clinical area preferred.
Current unrestricted License in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
Ability to obtain and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 90 days of hire.
Completion of basic fetal monitoring class by the end of orientation. Electronic Fetal Monitoring National certification (NCC) within two (2) years of hire.
Ability to obtain and maintain department specific certifications.
Registered Nurse Core Certification (RNC or RN-BC) preferred.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates clinical competence through utilization of the nursing process and development of a synergistic nurse-patient relationship.
Assesses and identifies patient problems/needs, establishes a plan of care, implements and evaluates care provided to patients.
