Job summary

Homewood Living Plum Creek is seeking an experienced RN Evening Shift Supervisor to provide clinical leadership and oversee nursing staff on the evening shift. You will ensure appropriate staffing, support quality care, and coordinate communication among residents, families, physicians, and nursing leadership.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, updating care plans, ensuring confidentiality, and liaising with physicians.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in the state providing resident care.
• Two to four years' experience in a supervisory position preferably in a geriatric long term care facility.
• Compassion, understanding and empathy for older persons.
• Management ability including written/verbal communication, good judgment and coaching.
• Understanding of management, delegation and motivational concepts.
• Able to communicate with residents, family and staff at a level they understand.
• Ability to react quickly in emergencies and unexpected behavior of residents.
• Physical ability to lift 30 pounds for resident assistance.
• Strong conflict resolution skills, respectful and dignified.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical leadership and operational oversight for the nursing team during the evening shift.
• Ensures appropriate staffing to provide proper care and handles call-offs.
• Oversees preparation of residents' charts for physician visits and coordinates follow-up.
• Observes and communicates resident health status to physicians and coordinates care plans.
• Oversees orientation of new nursing staff on the shift.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and adheres to policies.
