Job summary

Hill Crest Behavioral Health is seeking an RN Psychiatric Assessment Coordinator (RNAC) in Birmingham, AL for a full‑time shift 11:00 AM–7:30 PM. Alabama RN license required; LICSW/LMSW/LPC/ALC licensure a plus.

Must attend an 8-business-day orientation from 8a–4p without interruptions. The RNAC will manage admissions, review labs for medical appropriateness, conduct intake assessments, and coordinate with financial counselors and nursing staff to ensure smooth admissions and high-quality

Qualifications

Current RN license in Alabama required.
Ability to provide orientation and continuing education with co-workers.
(3) years experience in Intake, psychiatric setting (outpatient or inpatient) and crisis intervention preferred.
The ability to establish rapport quickly via telephone or in person.
Must be computer literate and have excellent clerical skills.
Experience in insurance benefits verification and admission preferred.
Familiar with medical and psychiatric terminology/psychotropic medications preferred.
Handle with Care and CPR certified preferred.

Responsibilities

Review labs to ensure medical appropriateness for potential admissions.
Complete the admission process including intake assessments and coordinating with financial counselors.
Assist with nursing assessment review and disposition with physician and unit charge nurse.
