Hill Crest Behavioral Health, part of Universal Health Services in Birmingham, AL, seeks an RN Psychiatric Assessment Coordinator (RNAC) to oversee admissions and intake, review labs for medical appropriateness, and work with physicians and unit charges on dispositions.

The role requires a current Alabama RN license; licensure as LICSW/LMSW/LPC/ALC is a plus. Full-time with a ~11:00 AM–7:30 PM shift; orientation is 8 business days.

Qualifications

• Current license as a RN in the State of Alabama required.
• Ability to provide orientation and continuing education with co-workers.
• (3) years experience in Intake, psychiatric setting (outpatient or inpatient) and crisis intervention, preferred.
• The ability to establish rapport quickly via telephone or in person.
• Must be computer literate and have excellent clerical skills.
• Experience in insurance benefits verification and admission, pre-certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

• The RN Psychiatric Assessment Coordinator handles the admission process including Intake assessments and communicating with financial counselors regarding financial issues.
• Reviews labs to ensure medical appropriateness for potential admissions.
• Coordinates with the Physician and Unit Charge Nurse to complete the RNAC disposition and admission process.

RN Psychiatric Assessment Coordinator (RNAC)

Admissions/Intake

• FULLTIME; SHIFT ~ 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Current license as a RN in the State of Alabama required. Additional licensure as a LICSW, LMSW, LPC, ALC, etc. a plus.
• MUST HAVE availability to attend an 8- business day Orientation from 8a-4p without interruptions.

The Psychiatic Assessment Nurse is a Registered Nurse who provides nursing care to patients utilizing the admission process. The Assessment Nurse is primarily responsible for reviewing labs to ensure medical appropriateness for potential admissions. The RNAC disposition with the Physician and Unit Charge Nurse. The RNAC is also responsible for completing the admission process including Intake assessments, communicating with financial counselors regarding financial issues, and assisting with the nursing assessment review.

Hill Crest Behavioral Health is an acute care, 194 bed inpatient psychiatric facility located in Birmingham, AL, providing mental health services for adolescents and adults.
