Job summary

Banner Health in Gilbert, AZ seeks an experienced Lactation Consultant RN to round on patients in L&D, Postpartum and NICU, providing breastfeeding education and plan of care. You will collaborate with pediatricians, speech therapy and staff to improve lactation outcomes and community education.

The role requires IBCLC certification, active RN licensure, and BLS; NRP within six months. This is a part-time position with three 8-hour shifts (3 PM–11:30 PM) and night/weekend differentials.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in state of practice.
• IBCLC, CLC, CBC or CBS certification required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• NRP Certification must be obtained within six months.
• BSN is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient lactation needs in L&D, postpartum, and NICU.
• Develops individualized feeding plans and educates patients and families.
• Delivers lactation education and coordinates with pediatricians and speech therapy.
• Creates discharge plans and participates in unit initiatives and community classes.
• Documents care and communicates effectively with the care team.
• Participates in ongoing lactation education and materials updates.
• Interacts with staff across departments to support lactation care.
