Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse Lactation Consultant to support mothers and babies in the postpartum and NICU units. The role requires IBCLC certification, Michigan nursing license, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

You will educate families, develop care plans, and work within lactation policies to ensure safe discharge planning. You will collaborate with the Breastfeeding Advisory Board and nursing leadership, providing direct patient teaching and resources

Qualifications

Education: Requires bachelor’s degree in nursing
Licensure: Requires current Michigan Nursing License
Certification: International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant IBCLC

Responsibilities

Functions as a counselor, educator, and mentor to nurses, patients, and families.
Supervision and evaluations are received from the Clinical Nurse Manager for the Mother/Baby unit or designee.
Provides direct patient support and teaching to patients with complex lactation problems and develops an individualized care plan.
Uses Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital breastfeeding policy and helps revise it with the BAB when needed.
Identifies education needs and develops materials for breastfeeding education for discharge readiness.
