Job summary

Trinity Health MI in Ann Arbor, MI seeks a Lactation Consultant to support mothers and babies in our Postpartum Unit and NICU. This full-time, 32-hour weekly role offers rotating day and evening shifts with comprehensive benefits.

IBCLC certification is required. Eligible candidates include RNs with Michigan licensure or Non-RN CLC with IBCLC; a nursing bachelor’s degree is expected for RN track. Growth and excellent patient care are emphasized.

Qualifications

  • Requires IBCLC certification and active licensure (RN or equivalent) in Michigan.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing is required for RN track; CLC/IBCLC path also described.
  • IBCLC certification must be maintained per IBCLE continuing education guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct lactation support to mothers and infants across Postpartum, NICU, Pediatrics, and Labor & Delivery.
  • Assess lactation needs and document goals and interventions.
  • Educate patients and families, including complex lactation cases.
  • Collaborate with the care team on feeding plans and discharge readiness.
  • Respond to breastfeeding inquiries and provide guidance.
  • Support policy adherence and education materials.
