Job summary

The Arc of the St. Johns in Saint Augustine, FL is seeking compassionate residential caregivers to join our group homes.

This full-time role offers a starting pay of $17 per hour plus benefits, with a 3p-11p shift, in a supportive environment where you can grow professionally while making a difference. You will support individuals, implement behavior plans, assist with daily living, medical appointments, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Effective written and oral communication skills to fulfill job requirements.
• Pass a Level 2 background screening.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid, kept current.
• Certification in Safety Care, kept current.
• Good moral character.
• A valid Florida Driver's license and proof of insurance.
• Three references of recommendation for the position.
• High school diploma or equivalent with one year experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Ensures safety procedures are adhered to by program individuals and staff.
• Understand and practice the Participant Bill of Rights and the Principles of Choice when working with individuals.
• Responsible for welfare and safety of all individuals in services.
• Implement behavior plan steps and skills as scheduled.
• Provide residents with skill acquisition and training; notify issues.
• Maintain data documentation for skills and programs as scheduled.
• Assist with completion of assessments of all individuals in services/skills as assigned.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual documentation of individual achievements.
• Ensure individuals utilize skills achieved during acquisition programs through activities as designated.
• Notify Residential Manager of significant changes, problems, or needs.
• Complete and submit incident reports promptly.
• Assist individuals in obtaining medical appointments and dispensing medication as directed.
• Provide meaningful in-home and community-based activities per needs and plan.
• Ensure individuals are clean and groomed before going into the community.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings; prepare and submit time sheets and requests.
• Assist with ensuring individuals have privacy, rest, and activity for quality of life.
• Prepare and submit all residential documentation as determined by the Residential Manager.
