Job summary

Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota is seeking a Residential Shift Coordinator for their Summit Oaks program in Sioux Falls. The role focuses on maintaining a therapeutic environment for youth, supervising staff, and participating in crisis interventions.

The position requires a behavioral or social science background or equivalent experience, background checks, and a valid driver’s license. Evening shifts, weekends, and holidays are included in the schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a behavioral or social science field is preferred; or a combination of education and experience with children.
• Must successfully complete all agency background checks including criminal, child safety, and related screenings.
• Must be at least 21 years old and able to complete orientation per agency standards.
• Requires active auto-insurance and a valid driver's license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Direct and maintain a therapeutic and safe environment for youth ages 10-17 in a Psychiatric Residential Treatment program.
• Provide direct supervision and training to designated residential staff.
• Attend and participate in team meetings, in-service training, and crisis intervention.
• Perform duties of the Residential Shift Coordinator.

Education

Position

Full-time. Typical evening hours between 1:00pm-11:00pm, will include weekend and holiday shifts.

Salary

$21- $23 per hour; dependent on experience and qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in a behavioral or social science field preferred; or post-secondary education and a minimum of one year experience working with children; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must successfully complete all agency background checks, which include checks for criminal convictions, behavior harmful towards children, spousal abuse, and drug or sex crimes.
• Must be at least 21 years old and able to complete orientation training according to agency program standards.
• Requires active auto-insurance, a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one with approved driver status.
