Job summary

Avera is seeking a Certified Nurse Aide at St Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen, SD to join a multidisciplinary care team. You will provide routine patient care under supervision and help document care in patient records.

You will work a rotating schedule including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, contributing to high-quality patient care. Competitive pay and benefits support moving health forward.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA license in good standing required.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe and direct patient care: ambulating, bathing, positioning, and assisting with feeding and daily activities.
• Responds promptly to patient call lights and special needs; handles patient valuables with care.
• Greets visitors, answers inquiries, directs and assists; delivers messages and helps with gifts, flowers, and mail.
• Ambulates patients; assists in and out of wheelchairs; measures intake and output; may collect specimens.
• Answers phones and paging; assists during emergencies and directs traffic as needed.
• Prepares requisitions for diagnostic/therapeutic services and coordinates outpatient appointments.
• Requisition of supplies and equipment; maintains related forms and equipment.
• Requests Chaplain, social services, and pastoral care as directed.
• Performs clerical duties related to admissions, discharges, charts and forms.
• Maintains patient rooms and linens; performs routine cleaning.
