Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs in Bemidji is seeking a Part-Time Resident Assistant to support residents with limited personal care, companionship, and meals within the Bemidji Veterans Home.

This evening-shift position includes a 24-hour per 2-week schedule and may require weekends. The role is not initially eligible for health and dental insurance benefits, and final candidates undergo DHS background checks and TB screening.

Formación

• Ability to serve food in accordance with all pertinent safety and health regulations, guidelines and standards.
• Interpersonal skills sufficient to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere and engage residents in group and one‑on‑one activities.
• Knowledge of the aging process and related conditions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, read and follow instructions, and keep simple records.
• Experience providing direct care for others.
• Experience working in a long‑term care environment.

Responsabilidades

• Assist residents in social activities and with their personal interests. Help create opportunities for social interactions, personal routines, and exercise within the resident community.
• Serve food in a clean, cheerful environment to help build connections and a sense of community.
• Develop household customs and rituals by facilitating household‑related activities.
