Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care in the Medical and Surgical areas, accountable for care during the patient stay and discharge planning based on evidence-based practice.

The role requires night shifts, a 12-hour evening schedule, and a full-time commitment of 36 hours per week, with Iowa RN licensure and BLS. Telemetry training and experience with EHR/WorkDay are valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program.
• Current RN licensure in Iowa required.
• Telemetry class or equivalent within 3 months of hire.
• Experience with computer software and willingness to learn new software.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Proof of BLS certification prior to employment or within 60 days.
• Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient needs and develops a plan of care with discharge planning.
• Evaluates patient responses to interventions and educates patient/family.
• Communicates patient changes to the team and delegates care as needed.
• Identifies problems and supports process improvement efforts.
• Documents patient information accurately in records.
• Maintains computer system logons and supports care/education processes.
• Adapts to changes in the healthcare environment with a positive attitude.
