Job summary

Specialty Foods Group, LLC is seeking a motivated Mechanical Maintenance Technician for the evening shift in our Owensboro, Kentucky facility. The role supports production by minimizing downtime and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on refrigeration systems, engines, boilers, and related equipment.

Responsibilities include monitoring readings, sampling boiler water, completing repairs, and ensuring safety policies are followed in a cold, wet, and high-demand environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates electrical and mechanical aptitude with basic troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of plumbing systems and water/boiler operations is required.
• Proficient with common computer-based maintenance logs and checks.
• Hazmat certification and safety training must be completed.
• Ability to work in extreme heat, cold, humidity and dusty environments.
• Follows all safety policies and company rules at all times.
• Relevant ammonia-handling credentials are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check readings from refrigeration and air compressors and record data.
• Take boiler water samples and monitor temperatures for safety.
• Repair equipment per supervisor's list and ensure timely fixes.
• Perform preventive maintenance in engine and boiler rooms.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas daily.
• Record plant temperatures across areas and coolers.
• Respond to maintenance requests and assist in repairs as needed.
