Job summary

Benjamin Moore & Co is seeking a Lab Technician in Pell City, AL to perform QC lab duties, manage samples, and support production with color testing and data recording.

The position requires a high school diploma, strong attention to detail, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. Proficiency with SAP, Cimplicity, MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint, and spectrophotometer software is preferred. Shift: M-F, 3pm–11:30pm; pay range $24.00–$31.80 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work in a team environment and be cross-functional and flexible to change duties and start times.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Basic math skills (addition/subtraction/multiplication/division).
• Proficiency with company software and computer systems (SAP, Cimplicity, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, spectrophotometer software).
• Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work safely and follow SOPs.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs QC lab duties and process order management.
• Follows safety guidelines and uses PPE.
• Maintains lab area and equipment cleanliness.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration of prescribed equipment.
• Assist in scale up and watch batches.
• Perform and analyze laboratory tests and record data clearly.
• Conduct QC checks to support first run capability and release processes.
• Visually approve color, gloss, opacity, and cleanliness of samples.
• Interpret spectrophotometric data.
• Maintain inventory of lab supplies and raw materials.
