Job summary

Stamford Health in Stamford, CT is seeking a part-time Psychiatric Technician to provide a safe, therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients and assist with basic patient care as part of a treatment team.

Primary duties include supporting care plans, ADLs, and group activities, with duties across admission to discharge. Requires a related degree or experience, BLS, and CPI within 6 months; weekend shifts and 7pm-7:30am hours are needed.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in related field or at least 1 year of work experience in related role.
• BLS certification upon hire.
• CPI certification obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to extract/interpret information and perform arithmetic functions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a safe, hazard-free environment by reporting unsafe conditions.
• Respond promptly and calmly during crises and emergencies.
• Build therapeutic rapport with patients and families while maintaining boundaries.
• Conduct rounds and report issues to supervising staff in a timely manner.
• Observe and document patient behaviors.
• Collaborate with nursing to meet patients' basic care needs and ADLs.
• Assist in admissions and facilitate safe discharge of patients.
• Support development and following of behavioral care plans.
