Job summary

Hartford HealthCare in the Greater Manchester Region seeks a Psychiatric Technician to support a safe, structured milieu and patient care during the 11:00 pm–7:30 am shift, every other weekend and holiday.

You will assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), help patients participate in therapy groups, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to document progress and plan care. This role is part of Connecticut’s comprehensive healthcare network dedicated to compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school degree or GED equivalent required, an Associate’s degree, preferably in psychology or other human services field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a safe, structured and therapeutic milieu with age-specific behavioral management.
• Plan, implement and facilitate a variety of skill training and theme-specific groups; model communication, negotiation, problem solving and conflict resolution.
• Document and communicate pertinent information to the treatment team as part of the interdisciplinary group.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, feeding and dressing as needed.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Associate’s degree in psychology or related human services field (preferred)
