Job summary

IPG Photonics, a Marlborough, MA-based leader in fiber lasers, is seeking a Small Piece Assembler to join our manufacturing team. You will build components and sub-assemblies for high-powered lasers, using microscopes and precision hand tools in a clean room environment.

This role requires good communication, the ability to follow written and verbal work instructions, and reliable attendance. Shift is 3:00 pm–11:30 pm with weekly overtime, and occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Must have good communication skills and be able to understand and follow verbal and written work instructions.
• Regular and reliable attendance and the ability to work overtime are essential functions of this job.
• Be able to work carefully, consistently and be able to identify errors.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install and inspect components; which may require positioning, aligning and repairing pieces and/or cleaning parts.
• Arm-hand steadiness with hand-to-eye coordination a must.
• Comfortable working with very small fragile parts in a clean room environment.
