Job summary

IPG Photonics, a Marlborough, MA-based leader in fiber lasers, is seeking a Small Piece Assembler to join our manufacturing team. You will build components and sub-assemblies for high-powered lasers, using microscopes and precision hand tools in a clean room environment.

This role requires good communication, the ability to follow written and verbal work instructions, and reliable attendance. Shift is 3:00 pm–11:30 pm with weekly overtime, and occasional Saturdays.

• Regular and reliable attendance and the ability to work overtime are essential functions of this job.
• Be able to work carefully, consistently and be able to identify errors.

• Arm-hand steadiness with hand-to-eye coordination a must.

Our Small Piece Assemblers continually work with their hands and deal with small details. With the assistance of microscopes and tweezers, build components and sub-assemblies for high‑powered lasers following a set routine with specific procedures and instructions. IPG Photonics offers on‑the‑job training to ensure you will thrive.

Duties

Requirements

• Must have good communication skills and be able to understand and follow verbal and written work instructions.
• Regular and reliable attendance and the ability to work overtime are essential functions of this job.
• Must be present and on time for work as scheduled.
• Be able to work carefully, consistently and be able to identify errors.
• Familiarity with PCs and Microsoft Windows, a plus but no required.
• H.S Diploma or equivalent required.
• Hours are 3 pm‑11:30 pm w/ weekly overtime and occasional Saturdays.
