Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health in Paterson, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Associate (Pre-Op) for full-time evenings. You will assist patients with daily living activities, provide basic care to acutely ill patients, and support a safe, clean environment. EKGs and venipuncture are performed under RN direction.

The role requires a PCA/PCT diploma or related nursing coursework; BLS/ACLS/PALS certification requirements apply as per the hospital policies.

Qualifications

• PCA/PCT diploma with 6 months to 1 year of healthcare experience in the last 6 months.
• Enrollment in an accredited nursing program with Nursing Fundamentals level 1 coursework in lieu of PCA/PCT diploma.
• Evidence of completion in Nursing Fundamentals coursework or nursing assistant training.
• Experience as PCA/PCT, Home Health Aide or CMA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic care to acutely ill patients.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment.
• Perform EKGs and Venipuncture as directed by the RN.
