Job summary

SkyChefs, part of Lufthansa Service Holding, is hiring a PM Sous Chef (evening shift) to lead production of high-quality airline meals in a fast-paced, on-site kitchen in Houston. You will ensure food safety, menu adherence, and production schedules while mentoring staff and maintaining cost controls.

The PM shift runs 2pm-10pm Thursday-Monday, with Tuesday and Wednesday off; 24/7 operations require flexibility.

Qualifications

Culinary training with supervisory experience in high-volume production.
3+ years in commercial, industrial, airline, hotel, or large-scale catering food production.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and HACCP regulations.
Ability to manage inventories and control food costs.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Executes and supervises food production activities, e.g. cleaning, cutting, marinating, seasoning, cooking.
Oversee kitchen staff and assist Executive Chef when unavailable.
Supervise storage, FIFO and inventory control.
Monitor material consumption and place orders for daily production.
Participate in development of food products and menus for presentations.
Ensure adherence to catering manuals and quality standards.
Provide training to kitchen staff and foster continuous improvement.
