Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking Phlebotomy Technicians I to perform phlebotomy, specimen labeling, and related lab tasks on campus. This full-time role includes evening/night shifts, every other weekend and holiday, at UI Health Care Main Campus in Iowa City.

Minimum requirements include high school graduation and public contact experience. Prior phlebotomy training or healthcare experience is desirable; basic computer skills required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous public contact/customer service experience.
• Desirable phlebotomy training or related experience.
• Minimum six months of healthcare setting experience.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy draws.
• Performs computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required.
• Orders, receives, and distributes phlebotomy supplies.
• Responds to basic phlebotomy inquiries and represents assigned work areas.
