Job summary

Valley Health System seeks a phlebotomist at Waldwick Center to perform phlebotomy on in-office patients and handle specimen collection and processing. You will register orders, ensure medical necessity, and respond to provider and patient inquiries by phone, fax, or printout.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of phlebotomy experience, excellent communication and customer service skills, and is ASCP certified or pursuing certification. High school diploma required; evening shifts available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• A minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience required.
• ASCP certified preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy on in-office patients.
• Register, order tests, perform medical necessity, and process specimens.
• Provide customer service by initiating/responding to provider and patient inquiries via phone, fax, or printer regarding test status, results or specimen requirements.
