Job summary

Mercy seeks a Supervisor of Pharmacy Technicians for evening leadership in a hospital setting. You will oversee and mentor a team of technicians, ensuring safe, accurate medication preparation, dispensing, and distribution while collaborating with pharmacists.

In this role, you’ll drive operational excellence, mentor staff, and optimize automation systems to support patient care and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience or equivalent required.
• Active Pharmacy Technician registration in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy (or ability to obtain by first day of employment)
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of Pharmacy Technicians in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Support medication preparation, compounding, dispensing, and distribution processes.
• Assist with advanced pharmacy automation technologies, including robotic dispensing systems and automated dispensing cabinets.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for pharmacy workflows, inventory management, ordering, and medication distribution systems.
• Train, coach, and onboard new coworkers, fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence.
• Troubleshoot pharmacy automation and software systems to ensure efficient operations.
• Collaborate with pharmacists to support patient care initiatives and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Help drive process improvements that enhance safety, efficiency, and the patient experience.
