Job summary

WVU Medicine's WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for an evening shift (2:00pm–10:30pm), with every-other-weekend work, in Morgantown, WV. The role involves reading physicians' orders, preparing and delivering medications, and supporting sterile compounding under pharmacist supervision.

Candidates should have a High School diploma and current state licensure as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current licensure as required by state boards (MD/OH/PA/WV).
• Six months of pharmacy technician experience.
• Assists in reading physician orders and preparing medications.
• Maintains inventory and ensures accurate labeling and records.

Responsibilities

• Read physicians' orders and prepare medications for dispensing.
• Deliver medications to patient care areas per schedule.
• Prepare sterile products under supervision of a pharmacist.
• Manage inventory and restock supplies.
• Label products accurately and maintain records for controlled substances.
• Enter information in Pharmacy IV Computer Systems.
• Ensure pharmacy areas are clean and organized.
• Follow state/federal regulations governing technician duties.
